CASS-CONNECT Europe: Connecting Academia and Industry in Europe Workshop

CASS-CONNECT Europe: Connecting Academia and Industry in Europe Workshop

In conjunction with the 33rd IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (ICECS 2026)

Date/Time: Sunday 08 November 2026, 13:30-16:30
Venue: The MET Hotel, Thessaloniki, Greece
Room: Zephyros

CASS-CONNECT Europe workshop aims to strengthen academia-industry collaboration across the IEEE CASS community in Europe. Building on the strong industry engagement demonstrated in recent European CASS activities, the workshop will bring together academic and industry researchers to explore forward-looking technologies in circuits and systems. Key themes include healthcare technologies and diagnostics, advanced processor design and AI, circuits and systems for agriculture, semiconductor products for satellite communications, 5G and IoT, technologies for marine and space sectors, and advanced sensing/signal processing.

The workshop will feature a series of presentations delivered by industry and academic experts in Europe, complemented by interactive discussions and audience participation. The presentations will address key challenges and success factors in collaborations between industry, academia, and research and technology organisations (RTOs), drawing on practical experience in collaborative R&D, technology development, and European research and innovation funding. The workshop will also highlight opportunities for CASS members to engage in European Union research and innovation activities, access relevant funding programmes, and develop strategic partnerships across academia, industry, and RTOs. Through the presentations and subsequent discussions, the workshop will seek to align research priorities with industrial needs and identify opportunities for joint research and innovation. Ultimately, it aims to help establish new partnerships and sustained industry-academia collaboration within the CASS community across Europe.
